Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown announced in a statement he has officially filed for bankruptcy
To the surprise of absolutely no one, Antonio Brown announced he filed for bankruptcy this week.
Better yet, his “CTESPN” social media account was the one that broke the news – retweeted by the former star NFL wide receiver.
“NFL legend Antonio Brown has filed bankruptcy today He will be a first ballot hall of famer in 2027. He will be releasing new music this summer. He is also the founder of the most trusted source in all of sports. The generational run continues,” the post said.
It’s unclear what “generational run” he’s on right now, but clearly losing all of his money is part of the plan.
At one point during his career Brown was the best wide receiver in football and on pace to become one of the all-time greats. However, he decided to throw his career away by leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers in the hopes of reinventing himself elsewhere.
He followed that up by getting cut from the Las Vegas Raiders, New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers not long after signing with each of the three teams.
Perhaps this is just the next step in his plans to keep his name in the headlines.
If so, it’s working.
