Breaking News: Coldplay break records with Wembley Stadium gigs after dealing huge blow to Taylor Swift..Read More
Coldplay have added two more dates to their Wembley Stadium gigs next summer and have now played more shows at the iconic venue than Taylor Swift and Take That.
Coldplay have smashed records with an unprecedented number of sell-out shows at Wembley Stadium, eclipsing mega acts like Take That and Taylor Swift.
The ‘Yellow’ hitmakers, led by Gwyneth Paltrow’s former other half Chris Martin, 47, are conquering the globe with their Music of the Spheres World Tour, which took off in March 2022 and is showing no signs of slowing down.
With eight packed nights under their belt for Londons next summer scene at the iconic stadium, Coldplay is adding more notches with an extra two, taking them to a chart-topping ten evenings at the illustrious venue.
As record-breaking as it sounds, the group initially matched the impressive feat set by pop giants Take That as well as matching the charm offensive by Americas sweetheart, Taylor Swift. The ‘Relight My Fire’ icons and the American songstress both previously seduced crowds over eight spellbinding nights.
However, this past Thursday saw Coldplay going one better, taking to Instagram to declare: “Due to phenomenal demand in the presale, ninth and tenth Wembley Stadium shows have just been announced, for 7 and 8 September, 2025.”
They then detailed the swift sell-out of the additional tickets available from Friday, showcasing their steadfast fanbase, reports the Mirror.
Fans are expressing frustration as tickets for Coldplay’s 2025 concerts at Wembley Stadium sold out swiftly, with virtual queues lasting hours.
A dismayed fan posted on the group’s Instagram: “So 4 hours in the queue after getting in the waiting room at 8:30 and joining the queue at 9am and nothing – SOLD OUT for the date I queued for or I can queue again for another date where the queue is 150k plus – this is absolutely ridiculous.”
Their rant didn’t stop there: “This after queuing yesterday exactly the same for hours to get thrown out once I got a seated ticket up in the gods the furthest away from the stage. Absolutely ridiculous. I have been going to concerts regularly for 31 years and it feels impossible to get tickets for anything now. It’s so disheartening especially when you are just doing the same thing as everyone else. something needs to change.”
The iconic band has slated a staggering ten shows for August and September 2025, but some fans might argue that the tally should actually be 16, considering their six performances at the venue last August during the same tour.
The Music of the Spheres World Tour is set to reach a grand finale with an additional 10 dates, having kicked off on 18 March 2022 in Costa Rica.
Taylor Swift, who performed eight shows at Wembley this summer as part of her ongoing Eras World Tour, continues to hold the record for the most performances by a solo and international artist at the iconic venue.
This surpasses Take That’s eight-show run in 2011 during their Progress Tour.
