Taylor Swift’s Republican support has plummeted considerably after she endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. According to a recent poll, 47% of Republicans now dislike Swift, a significant increase over last year. Meanwhile, her popularity among Democrats rose marginally following her endorsement.
A poll indicates that since Harris’ endorsement, Republicans’ opinion of Taylor Swift has decreased.
There doesn’t seem to be a ‘Love Story’ between Republican voters and Taylor Swift, according to a recent poll. The megastar has significantly lost the support of her right-leaning base since she endorsed Vice President Harris. Over 47% of Republicans despise the ‘All Too Well’ singer, according to an NBC News poll that was released on Friday. That is more than 20 points higher than in November of last year, when according to an NBC poll, 26% of Republicans had the same negative opinion of Swift.
Only a few days had passed since Swift gained notoriety by endorsing Harris’s presidential candidacy. Swift declared her support for the vice president in an Instagram post on September 10th, the day after the debate between Harris and former president Trump, saying that she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.
Swift tweeted about Harris to her more than 280 million followers, saying that Kamala is a steady-handed, gifted leader, and she believes Americans can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.
Democrats’ favorable opinions of Swift increased little following the singer’s open support of Harris, according to an NBC News poll. In the September poll, 58% of Democrats thought favorably of Swift, down from 53% the previous year.
