Tom Brady amuses fans with his broadcasting during the Sunday’s game
Tom Brady, who became the highest-paid football announcer in history, called his first Arizona Cardinals game a great 24-23 upset over the San Francisco 49ers. Play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt praised the game as a “stunner,” and Brady was praised for his performance, surpassing his much-ballyhooed debut. He noted that the Cardinals, despite being down in the second half, fought back. “They didn’t have guys quitting, they didn’t have guys feeling too bad for themselves,” he said
During the game, Tom Brady and Kevin Burkhardt shared analysis of the matchup, often letting his excitement overshadow him, as both teams tied for 2-3 on the season. Brady praised Murray’s leadership skills after a blowout loss to the Washington Commanders, praising his ability to rally his team. “This one flushes last week, obviously,” Murray told Brady. “We got a next-week mindset to come in here against a divisional opponent and flush that game. To come in here and beat a great team in the 49ers, and it’s a great way to bounce back. And I’m proud of the guys, man, we fought 60 minutes. Man, it was a hell of a win
Murray threw 7-for-7 on the Cardinals’ fourth-quarter touchdown drive. After a fumble by the 49ers’ Jordan Mason, Murray accounted for 41 total yards, setting up the game-winning field goal. He finished with 195 passing yards, one touchdown, and an interception, and seven rushing attempts for 83 yards. Brady was amazed by the touchdown run by Murray, who was presented with the LFG Player of the Game award. Murray pointed his finger forward after tight end Elijah Higgins blocked a path, knowing he was about to score even though he was 45 yards away from the end zone.
It was kind of spur of the moment,” Murray explained. “Man, I want to say it was Nick [Bosa] who [was the defender] on the zone read. I pulled it, I knew if Elijah could get that block, I was out of there and I was going. So it was a good feeling to get out and open, get out in space and show some speed, a little bit.”
