Breaking News: NFL Fans Loved Taylor Swift Looking Absolutely Stressed Out After Chiefs Turnover…. See More
Taylor Swift is a big-time football fan now.
On Monday night, the Kansas City Chiefs improved to 5-0 with a 26-13 win over the New Orleans Saints. Their most famous fan was in attendance, living and dying with every play like the rest of us.
Late in the third quarter, the Chiefs had a 16-7 lead and were knocking on the doorstep of another score. On second-and-goal from the 2-yard line, Patrick Mahomes threw a pass that JuJu Smith-Schuster bobbled, which allowed Saints defensive lineman Khalen Saunders to intercept it and run the ball back to the 35-yard line. He showed impressive speed in the process.
That was a crazy reversal of fortune for the Chiefs and Swift reacted to the play the way any superfan would. She showed complete exasperation. Video evidence is below.
We’ve all been there before. It appears she’s become a hardened football fan now.
The Saints wound up converting the ensuing drive into a touchdown to cut the deficit to 16-13. That’s as close as things would get as the Chiefs dominated the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce had his best game of the 2024 season, securing nine catches for 70 yards
The first half of the Kansas City Chiefs-New Orleans Saints game contained plenty of excitement, from Derek Carr’s 43-yard touchdown pass to Travis Kelce’s cool lateral play that was apparently designed, per Andy Reid. Kelce was on a roll in the first two quarters, bringing in a team-high eight catches for 67 yards, though he has yet to find the end zone.
ESPN analyst Troy Aikman may have gotten a little too excited when, after one of Kelce’s catches, the cameras panned to Taylor Swift in the stands and Aikman referred to her as “the missus
Aikman’s boothmate, Joe Buck, kindly corrected him and said, “You know they’re not married, right?”
Buck then hilariously revealed that his daughters have forbade him from making any sassy quips about Kelce and Swift’s potential marriage on-air.
“I’m sure I’m in trouble for saying that,” Aikman said, chuckling.
I mean, it happens,” Buck replied. “My daughters have warned me multiple times today, ‘Dad, I know you think you’re funny. Don’t make any jokes.’”
Kelce and Swift have been dating since the start of last NFL season (and possibly earlier), but they have not yet tied the knot, despite what the flurry of tabloids seem to report every day. Aikman isn’t the first to slip up and accidentally call Swift Kelce’s wife, but he could take a page out of Buck’s playbook and just avoid the topic altogether.
The Kansas City Chiefs are 5-0 to start the season after beating the New Orleans Saints, 26-13, at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday Night Football, and no one was as pleased as Taylor Swift.
The pop star was in the stands watching her boyfriend Travis Kelce reel in a season-high nine catches for 70 yards in the Chiefs’ victory, and after the game, Swift joined Chariah Gordon, the fiancée of Chiefs wideout Mecole Hardman Jr., in the VIP suite to talk football.
How do you feel after this win?” Gordon asked Swift in a video posted to Gordon’s Instagram Stories.
“No, it’s important that you answer the question this time,” Swift cheekily replied.
“I think that we feel really good after this win, we’re 5-0,” Gordon started
Swift and Gordon then agreed it was the “perfect” way to start the NFL season and that the Chiefs were clearly on a roll. The WAGs continued to rave about and celebrate Kansas City’s latest win right in front of a particularly noticeable picture on the wall: a poster of Swift’s Eras Tour concert.
“Sorry for photobombing myself,” Swift said, gesturing to the poster.
The Chiefs will get a rest this upcoming week and then go on the road to play the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7
