Just In: Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Was ‘Obsessed’ with Princes William and Harry, but They ‘Never Accepted’ Party Invites, Says Former Rep…. Read More
Rob Shuter, who worked for Combs in the early ’00s, claimed the rapper kept “framed pictures”of the Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex in his New York apartment
Sean “Diddy” Combs was a big fan of Prince Willam and Prince Harry, but they never accepted an invitation to one of his star-studded parties.
Rob Shuter, who previously worked as a publicist for the musician between 2002 and 2004, told BBC News he was told to call William, 42, and Harry, 40, to invite them to Combs’ events “more than 10 times.”
However, the royals never accepted the invitations, despite Combs “offering to cover their travel, lodging and even pay for their security,” Shuter said, per the outlet.
“Diddy was obsessed with Prince Harry and Prince William. He thinks of himself as a king, so it makes perfect sense that he would like to have two princes in his entourage,” Shuter said.
“[They] never accepted [the invites], they were never part of his world,” he added.
Shuter also said the rapper — who is currently behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn after being denied bail by two judges — even kept “framed pictures” of the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex in his New York apartment.
PEOPLE reached out to Kensington Palace for comment.
Combs was charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution on Sept. 17 after being arrested at a Manhattan hotel the day prior. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges
The musician appeared in federal court on Oct. 10 for a hearing in his criminal case, where his mother, Janice Combs, and children were in attendance. His trial has been scheduled for May 5, 2025.
The Bad Boy Records founder has been accused in the indictment of organizing alleged “freak offs,” which prosecutors say were highly orchestrated sex performances. Prosecutors alleged Combs forced or coerced women into participating in the “freak offs” with male sex workers.
Combs’ legal battles became public last November, when his ex, singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, filed a bombshell lawsuit against him, alleging that the music mogul raped and sex trafficked her over the course of an abusive 10 years. The suit was settled the next day but since then, multiple others have accused him of misconduct.
I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Ventura said in a statement at the time. “I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”
Her attorney, Douglas Wigdor, added, “I am very proud of Ms. Ventura for having the strength to go public with her lawsuit. She ought to be commended for doing so.”
