Breaking News: P Diddy was ‘obsessed’ with Prince William and Harry and was determined to lure them into his entourage… See More
The rapper and music mogul made more than 10 attempts to get the royal brothers to party with him, a former representative has said
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ former spokesperson has revealed that Prince William and Prince Harry consistently turned down invitations to the rapper’s lavish parties. Rob Shuter, who previously represented Combs, disclosed to the BBC that the artist persistently tried to bring the royal siblings into his social fold.
Earlier this month, it was reported that P Diddy had been removed from suicide watch as he awaits his trial, after being arrested and denied bail.
Diddy was obsessed with Prince Harry and Prince William,” Shuter remarked. “He thinks of himself as a king, so it makes perfect sense that he would like to have two princes in his entourage. [Harry and William] never accepted [the invites], they were never part of his world.”
Shuter noted that Combs made over “more than 10 times” attempts to persuade the princes to join his events, even offering to foot the bill for all related costs including travel, accommodation, and security measures. Combs himself commented on the matter during a 2011 interview on The Graham Norton Show.
Before, when they were young bucks growing up, and they were getting in a lot of trouble themselves, so, hey, I was like, ‘Why don’t you come hang out with me?'” Combs had said.
Royal author Christopher Andersen spoke to Fox News, mentioning that the invitations stopped following Prince William’s decision to propose to Kate Middleton in 2010, reports the Express US.
But those invitations were wisely turned down, and after William and Kate [Middleton] got engaged [in 2010], Diddy got the hint and stopped inviting them altogether,” Andersen explained.
While the princes never attended, other celebrities have been known to frequent Combs’ parties.
