Lady Gaga has released two albums in the past month, and both connected to her new movie Joker: Folie à Deux. Neither project produced a sizable hit, but they weren’t really intended to. The singer and actress has another full-length in the works, and a single from a forthcoming pop studio effort is expected sometime this month.

Ahead of the beginning of yet another chapter for Gaga, one of her most unlikely successful singles mounts a momentary comeback. “Bloody Mary” is not just present on two tallies in the United Kingdom at the moment, it’s a top 40 hit on both of them.

Bloody Mary” re-enters the Official Vinyl Singles chart this frame across the pond. The song comes in at No. 36 on the format-specific roster, spending a tenth nonconsecutive turn on the tally as it returns.

At the same time, “Bloody Mary” is also soaring on another, related list. Gaga’s dark dance-pop cut pushes from No. 55 to No. 18 on the Official Physical Singles ranking.

“Bloody Mary” has previously reached the top 10 on both of those tallies. The single peaked at No. 5 on the Official Vinyl Singles chart, and just two rungs lower on the list of the top-selling tracks on any physical medium.

Gaga originally released “Bloody Mary” in the spring of 2011. The tune is featured on her blockbuster album Born This Way, though it wasn’t chosen as an actual single until more than a decade after the collection rose and fell on the charts.

“Bloody Mary” became a trending smash on TikTok in 2022 following the release of Netflix’s series Wednesday. Fans of both the show and Gaga superimposed the tune over a scene where Wednesday, the character with whom the program shares its name, dances in a memorable and rather funny manner. That TikTok video went viral, and it introduced millions to the electro cut. It didn’t take long before Gaga and her team pushed the tune as a single, and it became a minor hit in a number of nations, including the U.K.
