Fridays are almost always packed with exciting new releases from some of the biggest names in the music industry (as well as countless relative unknowns). The end of this week is no different, and two beloved musical acts are competing for the top spot on the U.S. iTunes chart–and the harder-edged between them is winning.

Linkin Park currently sits at No. 1 on the list of the top-selling individual songs in America on iTunes. The band’s new single “Over Each Other” dominates the tally.

The hard rock favorites actually released their latest cut on Thursday (October 24). It took a little while, but Linkin Park sent the track to the highest reaches of the iTunes ranking, and it still holds there as of early on Friday (October 25) morning.

Linkin Park is still fending off their closest competition, but the ranking may change as Friday progresses. As of the time of writing, Lady Gaga sits at No. 2 with her latest single, “Disease,” which is still being kept at bay by the rock band.

“Disease” serves as the first single from Gaga’s upcoming album, which so far doesn’t have a name. The full-length is expected at some point in early 2025, and she’s started the promotional campaign immediately after dropping not one, but two full-lengths.

Just a few weeks ago, Gaga shared an album titled Harlequin. That set is tied with her starring role in the box office flop Joker: Folie à Deux. The project includes a number of Broadway, traditional pop, and jazz standards, with some updated production to make them feel a bit fresher.

Harlequin was something of a commercial disappointment for Gaga–as was the movie it’s connected to–but it also wasn’t presented as a traditional album. The set didn’t produce any singles, and even the singer seemed to move on fairly quickly. A week after her solo collection dropped, she and Joaquin Phoenix released the official Joker: Folie à Deux soundtrack, which included a number of duets between the two that are performed in the film.
