Latest News: The View’ Hosts Argue About Trump’s Win: ‘Democrats Missed the Moment….. Check In For More Details
The hosts of The View argued about Kamala Harris’ loss on Wednesday morning, while Alyssa Farah Griffin explained why Republicans voted for Donald Trump.
Farah Griffin is a political commentator and former White House communications director under Trump. She served in various roles within the Trump administration, including as the assistant press secretary and director of strategic communications.
She said Democrats were too focused on narrow issues, failing to consider the larger picture.
“I think that a lot of Democrats missed the moment. They were looking at the micro [issues] and not the macro,” Farah Griffin said. “This is not about a micro issue like Gaza. It’s people saying the cost of living is too high, the wages are too low. My life felt better under him.”
Farah Griffin continued, “There are a lot of women who cared about abortion, but they were in states like Pennsylvania, where they don’t have an ultra restrictive abortion law. They were voting more because they’re like–pocketbook issues matter more than if a woman in Alabama is able to get an abortion.”
She also said Latinos pulled for Trump in this election.
Latinos in Texas, a district that’s 97% Latino, went 75 percentage points for Donald Trump,” Farah Griffin said.
Trump exceeded his 2020 results across the map, including in Starr County, Texas, where he became the first Republican presidential candidate to win since 1892.
The county is considered the most Hispanic in America with around 97 percent of its population identifying as such, according to TexasCounties.net 2020 data.
Co-host Sunny Hostin interrupted Farah Griffin, stating their vote was because of misogyny.
Farah Griffin said, “No! It’s on the border, crisis is on their doorstep. They were begging people to care about it for years.”
Hostin fired back, “No, that was sexism that’s what that was.” She acknowledged the Republican victory but argued they are morally bankrupt.
Whoopi Goldberg chimed in, asserting the Biden administration had no responsibility for the rising costs in the economy.
“Your pocketbooks are bad, not because the Bidens did anything, not because the economy. Goldberg said. “Your grocery bills are what they are, because the folks that own the groceries are pigs.”
Goldberg continued, “The reasons why stuff gas is high, not because the Bidens didn’t try to help, but because the folks who control that decided I want more money.”
More than half of Americans think the U.S. economy is in a worse state now than it was when Biden took office in January 2021, according to an exclusive poll for Newsweek.
A total of 93 percent of respondents among those who found the U.S. economy to be “bad” or “very bad” thought Biden was significantly responsible for it (55 percent), fairly responsible (20 percent) or somewhat responsible (18 percent).
Among those who found the economy to be somewhat bad, 88 percent thought Harris was also significantly responsible for it (47 percent), fairly responsible (21 percent), or somewhat responsible (18 percent).
Harris will preside over Congress’ certification of Trump’s victory on January 6 of next year—four years to the day since the Capitol riot, which at the time seemed destined to push her opponent into political obscurity.
“A completely intelligent, qualified woman lost to a guy who was simulating sex with a microphone,” Joy Behar said.
