The Prince and Princess of Wales have swapped their social media profiles back to images from Kate’s chemotherapy completion video announcement, following their temporary change to Remembrance-themed pictures.

The royal couple made the change on November 12, marking a return to more personal imagery after the solemn period of Remembrance.

The profile updates on their official X and Instagram accounts reflect a return to the intimate footage captured during Kate’s video message, where she spoke about her cancer treatment journey.

Prior to the update, the couple’s profile featured an image of them at the 2023 Festival of Remembrance at Royal Albert Hall.

Their social media header displayed ceramic red poppies, believed to be from the Tower of London’s 2014 tribute to British military casualties of World War I.

The temporary change aligned with royal tradition, as the family typically adopts Remembrance-themed imagery before Remembrance Sunday.

This annual observance, held on the second Sunday of November, is described on the royal website as “the focal point of the nation’s homage.”

The Royal Family’s participation is particularly significant as the British sovereign serves as head of the Armed Forces.

The royal couple’s current profile picture shows them in a candid moment, laughing together while sitting on a blanket in the grass.

This intimate scene was captured by Will Warr in Norfolk in August as part of Kate’s video message about completing chemotherapy.

On X, their cover photo has returned to a family portrait featuring their three children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

The September video, which provided these images, was notable for its unprecedented glimpse into their private life.

The footage also included a surprise appearance by Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, who a palace insider told PEOPLE are “an enduring factor in the upbringing of their grandchildren.”

Last weekend, Princess Kate attended the Festival of Remembrance on November 9, followed by the Cenotaph Service on Remembrance Sunday.

The Princess was accompanied by Prince William, King Charles, Princess Anne and other working royals at both events.

Queen Camilla was notably absent from the ceremonies whilst recovering from a chest infection.

Sources indicated there was no cause for concern regarding the Queen’s health, with Her Majesty returning to royal duties on November 12.

King Charles and Queen Camilla have also changed their social media presence following the Remembrance events.

Their profiles now feature an image that appears to be from the same portrait session as their Coronation anniversary photographs, taken by Millie Pilkington.

The picture was likely captured in Buckingham Palace garden on April 10, the day after their 19th wedding anniversary.

Their X and Facebook cover photo now displays Buckingham Palace surrounded by green trees, with Union Jack flags along The Mall.

This replaces their previous Remembrance-themed images, which included a 2009 photograph of the couple at Ottawa’s National War Memorial and a field of wild poppies with the message “Lest we forget.”
