The star-studded Formula 1 movie that has been filming at races across the globe is back in Las Vegas this week, shooting scenes in between the actual Las Vegas Grand Prix.

F1,” which stars Brad Pitt and is directed by Joseph Kosinski of “Top Gun: Maverick” acclaim, filmed on the street circuit around the Strip on Thursday night. Fans who had gathered to see the Vegas GP got a good look at the gold APX cars, several of which raced around the circuit after the F1 drivers finished their practice sessions. The vehicles were rigged with cameras, and crew members were stationed around the track for filming. In contrast to the sleek F1 cars
the ones used for filming on Thursday night were significantly louder, occasionally emitting sputtering, popping noises that caused some onlookers to ask what was wrong with the cars.

The movie has also filmed in the actual team garages during races, and many current F1 drivers are set to make cameos.

Some of the driving scenes to be featured in the film are being done by Pitt himself. His character, Sonny Hayes, is a former F1 driver who was forced to retire after a major crash. He returns to the sport to mentor a young driver named Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris). To promote the film, social media profiles were created for APX, mimicking real team accounts. Some of the posts even pretend as if the team is competing in the current race.

The Daily Mail reported that Pitt and his co-star Kerry Condon were seen filming non-racing scenes along the Strip this week. The movie also recently shot scenes on California’s Central Coast at the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area, a popular spot for off-roading.
