BREAKING: Fans shed tears and prayed for Taylor Swift after a heartbreaking announcement
The Shake It Off hitmaker choked up on stage, tears streaming down her face as she gave one of her most emotional performances of the Eras Tour yet on Sunday evening during the surprise song section of the show.
Every performance, Taylor picks two acoustic songs from her repertoire, one done on the guitar and one on the piano. The song choices vary each night, performing ones she hasn’t played live before or that haven’t yet been heard on the Eras TourSunday’s show was no different — she played Dancing With Our Hands Tied from 2017’s reputation as the first surprise song, an upbeat love anthem that she hadn’t performed live since the Reputation Stadium Tour. But her second song choice left the audience and fans from around the world who tuned in via livestreams on TikTok and other social media platforms sobbing as the singer herself choked up, her words catching in her mouth. The song she chose was Bigger Than The Whole Sky, a down-tempo, heartwrenching ballad detailing loss and mourning.
When it was first released as a 3am Edition track on her 2022 album Midnights, many used it to overcome sadness related to stillbirths or deaths in their families. And now it appears Taylor might have chosen it for a similar reason.
