Breaking News: A big anniversary for Taylor Swift is happening on the first night of the New Orleans show….. See More
To state the obvious,” Taylor Swift fans attending The Eras Tour tonight in New Orleans are getting their perfect fantasy, as the singer says in “Pictures to Burn.”
Swift kicks off her three-night tour stop in New Orleans the day after the 18th anniversary of her debut album “Self-Titled,” released Oct. 24, 2006.
Swifties from all over have taken over the city as they prepare to attend one of the three shows or enjoy one of the many Taylor Swift-themed events being held around town.
Swift’s current tour setlist has no regular songs from her self-titled album. The pop star sometimes incorporates select archive songs in her surprise song portion of the concert, such as when Swift sings acoustic versions of random songs from her catalog of 274 tracks.
Sometimes, tracks like “Tim McGraw” and “Teardrops on My Guitar” are played during the acoustic set.
Internet sleuthing Swifties have tied some of Swift’s recent plaid outfits to the green room in Swift’s “Lover House” and are hoping that soon the singer will announce the release of at least one of her final two re-recorded albums.
The “Lover House” appears in the background while Swift sings songs from her album “Lover” during The Eras Tour and has rooms that represents each era. The green room has been dubbed by fans to represent the singer’s debut album.
Herb Sudzin, who established the country radio alternative Sudzin Country, interviewed Swift in 2007. In the interview, Swift revealed that she had written roughly 250 songs before the release of her first studio album, which was trimmed down to 14 songs.
When releasing re-recordings of her albums, Swift includes those songs considered to be from the vault, like “I’d Lie,” which Swift wrote about a crush and performed at her high school talent show.
Whether Swift makes any announcement or not, there will surely be Swifties scream-singing “Our Song” or “Should’ve Said No” around New Orleans to commemorate the singer’s 18-year career.
