The actor spent Thanksgiving in L.A. with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, and their three children.

Ben Affleck may have a reputation for being notoriously grumpy, but it seems he’s staying positive amid his recent separation from Jennifer Lopez. According to sources who spoke exclusively to People, the actor is “very happy with life,” despite the fact that he is preparing for his second divorce from a Jennifer. Speaking of Jennifers: he even spent Thanksgiving in L.A. with Jennifer Garner, his ex-wife, and their three children.

“[He’s] in a great mood and super fun to work with,” said a source who spent time on the set of Affleck and Matt Damon’s new thriller RIP. “They’re a great team. You can tell [Affleck and Damon] enjoy working together. Ben looks great too. He seems to be in a good place.”

RIP traces the story of a group of Miami cops after they discover millions of dollars in cash and proceed to struggle over what to do with the money. Affleck and Damon co-star in the film, and their joint production company, Artists Equity, is also producing it. The project, of course, is just the latest product of a long bromance between the two actors, who first met in 1980 while growing up in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

For her part, Lopez also seems to be holding up well amid the divorce proceedings. While the estranged couple did not see each other over the Thanksgiving break, they both spoke positively about working together on the film Unstoppable.

Jennifer is spectacular,” Affleck said when asked about her performance in the film. “We believed in the right people, and Unstoppable is another example of that.”

Lopez quickly followed up with her own compliment, saying that, “I would describe all of the cast and everybody behind the scene as spectacular and wonderful.
