Breaking News: Brad Pitt Vs Angelina Jolie Winery Feud: Court Asks Actor To Produce Evidence Of Abuse….See More
Angelina Jolie’s lawyer Murphy also emphasised that Jolie’s aim remains the well-being of her family. The former couple, who divorced in 2016, share six children.
The courtroom drama surrounding Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt took a sharp turn this week, marking a major development in their ongoing dispute over the French winery, Chateau Miraval. A judge ruled in favour of Jolie, compelling Pitt to produce evidence that could shed light on allegations of abuse and an alleged cover-up. On Monday, November 25, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lia Martin reportedly issued a tentative ruling requiring Brad Pitt, 60, to hand over crucial documents and communications.
These records, Angelina Jolie, 49, claims, will support her allegations of domestic violence and a broader effort by Pitt to obscure the truth, as confirmed by Us Weekly. “We are gratified that the court ruled in Angelina’s favour,” Jolie’s lawyer Paul Murphy said on Tuesday, November 26. “After Mr Pitt fought for years to hide this crucial evidence, he must now produce documents and communications concerning abuse, lies to authorities, and years of cover-up. His actions harmed Angelina and their children and are central to this case,” he added.
Murphy also emphasised that Jolie’s aim remains the well-being of her family. The former couple, who divorced in 2016, share six children. Meanwhile, a source close to Pitt reportedly dismissed the ruling’s significance, calling it “mostly irrelevant because he has provided so much information already.” However, the decision comes after Jolie’s team alleged that Pitt tried to coerce her into signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to silence her about the alleged abuse, tying the NDA to her ability to sell her share of Chateau Miraval.
The legal feud began in February 2022 when Pitt accused Jolie of unlawfully selling her shares of the winery without his consent, violating an agreement that neither party would sell their stake without mutual approval. In earlier court documents, Pitt’s team described Chateau Miraval as a cherished family project, recalling how the couple purchased the property to create a home for their children and a business venture. The two were even married there in 2014, reported US Weekly.
Legal experts and insiders close to the case have called the ruling a “game changer.” A source explained, “This ruling is an enormous win for Angie and a disaster for Brad. This is, by far, the most impactful ruling in the case to date. All of this evidence is now fair game in discovery.”
With no trial date yet set, the legal battle between the former couple continues to dominate headlines, leaving both parties entrenched in one of Hollywood’s most high-profile disputes.
