Breaking News: Davante Adams shakes NFL with trade rumors as Kansas City need the missing piece for the three-peat… See More

Adams has played only 3 games and hasn’t played since September 22 in the loss to Carolina

Since being acquired by the Las Vegas Raiders in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers for first- and second-round picks in March 2022, Davante Adams hasn’t had the career he

envisioned. After a stellar first season where he recorded 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns alongside Derek Carr, his production has since declined without a top-tier quarterback. Now, with a trade inevitable, the question is: which team will acquire the three-time All-Pro and two-time NFL receiving touchdowns leader? The Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, or New Orleans Saints are the top contenders. Personally, seeing him in the Ravens would be the best way to prevent the first three-peat in history by Patrick Mahomes.

Where Will Davante Finish the Season?
The report says that Adams will miss his third consecutive game due to a hamstring injury, however, rumors suggest he is eager to join a contending team because, at 31, he is in the last seasons of his prime. The Chiefs, once a primary suitor, are no longer considered a viable option by multiple league sources. With injuries to three star players on offense-Hollywood Brown, Isiah Pacheco, and Rashee Rice-the stars seem to align for a trade, though it’s tough to see the Raiders trading their biggest star to a divisional rival. So Andy Reid will have to make do with Travis Kelce, rookie Xavier Worthy, and TikToker JuJu Smith-Schuster for now. They may also look for someone like Amari Cooper or DeAndre Hopkins, whose teams are not looking strong this year

Will the Ravens be his destination? Adams stirred up rumors about the Baltimore Ravens last week when he posted a picture of poet Edgar Allan Poe, best known for his poem “The Raven.” This seems like a playful hint about his future, but the question is: why share just that image? Another team in the mix is the Pittsburgh Steelers, whose defense is incredible but whose offense is weak, weak, weak. Adams would likely prefer a more appealing destination since it would be nearly the same as being in the Raiders in terms of production.

The New York Jets and New Orleans Saints are considered the two favorites to land Adams. The Jets just fired their coach, indicating that the season has not gone well with Aaron Rodgers. They know it’s easier to get a coach than a quarterback. So, why not reunite with former teammates? The Jets could trade wide receiver Mike Williams, who was drafted in 2017 by Raiders GM Tom Telesco while he was with the Chargers.

Adams is also interested in reuniting with Saints quarterback Derek Carr, with whom he played in Las Vegas and Fresno State. A potential trade with the Saints could mean the Raiders would pay some of Adams’ salary this season, but Las Vegas has also stated they don’t want to do that, according to sources. Adams’ salary for this season is $17.5 million, with $13.5 million still owed through the end of the season. While he is under contract for 2025 and 2026, his annual salary jumps to $36.25 million for each of those seasons. With such a hefty price tag, a trade partner would likely have to get Adams to agree to a restructured contract.
