Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have reportedly been on something of a real estate roller coaster ride in recent days, after it was claimed that the former couple had finally found a buyer for their $68 million Beverly Hills mansion—only to have them “pull out of escrow” at the last minute, according to TMZ.

The outlet claims that Lopez and Affleck, who are in the midst of finalizing their divorce, accepted an offer of $64 million from a couple in New Jersey, two months after they first put the property on the market, a move that all but confirmed they were ending their marriage.

“Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ a couple from New Jersey fell in love with their 38,000 square foot Beverly Hills area home and made a $64 million offer, which was accepted,” the report states.

At the time of publication, the property was still listed as “for sale” on Realtor.com®, and records do not indicate that a sale was ever pending.

J. Lo, 55, and Affleck, 52, purchased the 38,000-square-foot home in May 2023 for $60.8 million, with a plan to make the expansive property their marital home. But less than a year later, their relationship had fallen apart; and by July 2024, the duo had put the property back on the market.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have reportedly suffered a setback in the sale of their $68 million marital mansion.

Lopez and Affleck embarked on a months-long renovation of the home after purchasing it, which suggests that the property will come complete with every possible modern amenity.

Multiple reports suggested that the couple could suffer a serious loss on the home; however, TMZ claims that they were actually set to earn more than they originally paid for the home, had the alleged buyers completed the sale

It’s claimed that the couple who made the offer are “still interested” in the expansive mansion, but that they pulled out of escrow after suffering “a death in the family.”

The identities of the buyers in question have not been revealed.

However, the mansion’s eventual buyer will have a very expensive project on their hands—with Realtor.com estimates suggesting that the property costs a staggering $283,666 per month to maintain.

Its listing crows: “Designed and constructed with impeccable taste, the estate seamlessly integrates today’s cutting-edge technology with timeless elegance.”
