Breaking News: Fans think Brad Pitt has dropped major spoiler for the F1 movie as key scene filmed at Mexico Grand Prix…. See More

F1 fans awaiting the Mexican Grand Prix think they spotted a huge spoiler for the ‘F1’ film.

Fans will have to wait until 8 pm (GMT) this evening if they are to catch a glimpse of the action from Mexico City.

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz will start the race in pole position, with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen in second and McClaren’s Lando Norris in third.

However, excitement has been building pre-race as footage has emerged on social media appearing to show Brad Pitt ‘filming a scene’ for the ‘F1’ film, which is set to be released in June 2025.

Pitt, 60, could be seen holding a Mexican flag as supporters cheered him on in the country’s capital.

The American is set to play F1 driver Sonny Hayes, who returns to the grid years after suffering a horrible crash, according to Motor Sport.

The Hollywood star explained his gratitude towards the F1 teams when speaking to Sky Sports’ Martin Brundle in 2023.

“I’m a little giddy right now, I’ve got to say,” Pitt told Brundle at the British Grand Prix.

“It’s the best time of my life. … The vibe is amazing, but just to get to be a part of it in this way, and get to tell our story.”

“All the teams have opened their doors for us,” he added.

“Everyone has just been really, really amazing, that we can do this. And it’s going to be really good.”

F1 has grown in popularity in recent years thanks to the 2019 docuseries ‘Formula 1: Drive to Survive’. The cameras were given never-seen-before access to drivers’ lives on and off the track.

The film’s director, seven-time Academy Award nominee Joseph Kosinski, previously gave his thoughts when speaking to Deadline.

We’re shooting at the actual Grands Prix, there are certain aspects of this film where we’re working in very, very tight windows, shooting on the track, between practice and qualifying sessions, in front of hundreds of thousands of people,” he explained.

“Last year, at Silverstone, we had a scene we shot on the grid,” Kosinski said.

“I think we had something like nine minutes to shoot.”

“It really brings an intensity, and everyone’s leaning forward in a way that maybe you wouldn’t on a normal shoot day … you can just see the adrenaline going beforehand, and you feel that in the performances,” added Kosinski.

The film crew have previously filmed at Silverstone, Hungary, Spa, Monza, Zandvoort, Japan, Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi.
