A new report has shed light on the tragic death of Liam Payne, providing a poignant look into the star’s concerns before his untimely demise. The ex-One Direction member, aged 31, met with tragedy last month when he fell from the third floor of the Casa Sur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

A body was discovered in an internal patio of the boutique hotel shortly after 5pm local time, and it was confirmed that he had sustained “severe injuries which were incompatible with life”. Witnesses and a police report filed subsequently suggest that Liam was trying to get out of his hotel room and had threatened to use the balcony as an escape route.

A bag found with his body in the hotel’s internal courtyard seems to indicate he might have been getting ready to vacate the room. We now have more information about the worrying downward spiral Liam was in before his death, and the events that unfolded in his hotel room.

In the weeks leading up to his passing, Liam faced several challenges, with those close to him sounding the alarm. His publicist resigned, leaving him without professional support during a tumultuous period, and he was allegedly let go by his record label, Universal Music.

The Daily Mail reports that Liam was dropped by the label just days before his death, with an insider claiming: “Liam’s advance was massive and he didn’t recoup [it]. Out of all of the One Direction boys, Liam was on the wrong path musically.”, reports the Mirror.

It is also reported that his second album release was postponed. A source has suggested that Liam’s music career, which spanned eight years, may have seemed to be “crumbling” towards the end, leaving him “must have absolutely devastated him”. This period also saw his ex-fiancée Maya Henry initiate legal action against him after she accused him of persistent contact.

Fans of Liam have shared haunting footage from his final days and moments as he interacted with them during his trip to Argentina. A TikTok video captured the star outside his hotel, where he appeared unsteady and commented, “That was a really big squeeze”, while meeting fans.
