Breaking News: Mahomes, adidas unveil new uniforms featuring Gladiator logo… See More
Texas Tech alumnus and Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes II alongside adidas revealed a new Red Raider football uniform on Thursday featuring Mahomes’s “Gladiator” logo, according to a news release provided by Tech Athletics.
The reveal marks one of the few times in history that an athlete’s personal brand has been contributed to official on-field apparel, according to Tech Athletics.
“Seeing my own logo on the Texas Tech uniform I put so much blood, sweat and tears in is one of the most meaningful off-field accomplishments of my career,” Mahomes stated in the release. “I want to thank the three-stripe family for giving me this one-of-a-kind opportunity.”
The “Mahomes Strategy Uniform” will sport a primary dark gray look with power red accents incorporated throughout.
Inspired by the 45-degree bevel found across the Tech campus, the jerseys, along with the helmet, logos and numbers, will have a metallic film with galvanized finishes.
The new uniform drop isn’t the first major reveal between Mahomes and Tech, as during the 2019 basketball season Mahomes taped over a competitive brand with the word adidas, which has been branded as its own shirt since the partnership in July.
Mahomes also is the first adidas-sponsored athlete to collaborate with another organization with its own logo, according to Tech Athletics.
Tech will wear these uniforms for the first time on Nov. 9 against the University of Colorado at Jones AT&T Stadium.
As of Thursday, fans will be able to purchase the Tech x Mahomes branded collection at adidas.com/us/Texas_Tech along with local retailers.
