Boutique property developer and husband of Princess Beatrice has shared rare details about his private and professional life.

It appears Princess Beatrice’s husband’s work-life balance is just as hard for him as it is with the rest of the world, with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi sharing a rare insight into both his personal and professional life.

Edoardo, 40, married Princess Beatrice, 36, in 2020 but he explained how his work as a boutique property developer often keeps him away from his wife and children.

In an interview with the Financial Times, Edoardo shared a simple four-word insight into his life in support of his business, stating he’s “always on a train.”

He launched his property business, Banda, in 2007 when he was just 23 years old. The company describes itself as “a multi-disciplinary property practice, covering property search and acquisition, development, project management, architecture, and interior design”, globally.

In addition to having a presence in London, Banda also operates in India, Italy, and America.

The entrepreneur is also often on antique-sourcing trips and auctions in locations outside of the UK, such as Belgium and France.

Edoardo used to work in construction before his business pivoted. He explained: “Land prices went up every single year, planning took years to get and construction costs went up.”

Edoardo and Beatrice share their daughter Sienna, 3, and Christopher Woolf, affectionately known as ‘Wolfie’, 8, Edo’s son from a previous relationship. Wolfie stepped out in public alongside his doting father and stepmother at Sandringham in December 2022.

Previously, Hello! Magazine reported that “having a stable base for his family is key” and reported he moved “multiple times in his childhood”.

On October 1, Buckingham Palace announced that Princess Beatrice is expecting a child in early spring 2025. The baby boy or girl will be 11th in the line of succession when he or she is born, behind their sister Sienna.

While Beatrice is styled as Her Royal Highness, her children inherit titles from their father. Edoardo was not given a royal title upon his marriage to her, so they will not be a prince or princess, or a lord or lady.

However, Edoardo has Italian heritage and is a Count, meaning that his children have the courtesy titles of counts or ‘nobile donna’.

Edoardo’s father, Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, previously told MailOnline: “Edoardo is the only male descendent taking the family into the next generation.

“He is a count – his wife will be a countess automatically and any of their children will be counts or nobile donna.”
