Skip Bayless is not the biggest fan of Tom Brady the broadcaster. That much is clear after his latest remarks about the NFL legend’s performance inside the booth in Week 5.

Brady was on duty to call the game between the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals. However, Bayless was less than satisfied with how the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers star handled his duties.

According to the veteran Fox Sports analyst and commentator, Brady isn’t adding much value to his broadcasts because he’s always stating the obvious. In fact, Bayless even gave Brady the nickname “Capt. Obvious” because of his antics.

I’ve been listening to 49ers-Cardinals commentary by Capt. Obvious … who just talks and talks more and more obvious,” Bayless wrote on X, referring to Brady.

For what it’s worth, it’s not the first time that Skip Bayless has criticized Tom Brady. Two weeks into his new job, TB12 had already received some harsh remarks from Bayless about broadcasting.

At the time, Bayless labeled Brady as “just another 6th round draft pick” when it comes to commentating in live television. It’s worth noting that the 72-year-old TV personality also called the seven-time Super Bowl champion “Captain Obvious” at the time.

Analyzing games, on the fly, on live network television… Tom [Brady] so far is just another 6th round draft pick, and I am not sure he’ll get a whole lot better,” Bayless shared.

“I was stunned at how much more X and O insight and enlightenment Tony Romo provided instantaneously than Captain Obvious Brady did. This is something I would say I have a pretty good feel for.”

Brady is still clearly learning the ropes of broadcasting, so it’s definitely still too early to judge. So far, he’s still trying to find his own voice and style.

Unfortunately for him, it’s unlikely that Bayless will stop criticizing him considering the commentator’s reputation for dropping critical takes.
