Taylor Swift was not in attendance as Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, the second straight game she has missed

Taylor Swift was noticeably absent as her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, arrived at SoFi Stadium to take on the Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday.

Swift also did not attend Kelce’s previous NFL match against the Atlanta Falcons, sparking concerns among fans about the state of their relationship following a ‘contract’ hoax circulating on social media. Despite being officially together for over a year, an online document suggested that their entire romance was merely a publicity stunt.

The document, seemingly produced by LA-based firm Full Scope, outlined a plan for the couple to announce their split on Sept. 28. Although no such announcement was made, Swift was conspicuously absent from Kelce’s next NFL game, which took place the day after the supposed break up date.

The so-called contract detailed a strategy to release a “gracious, respectful and stress mutual respect” statement at the end of September, followed by a three-day cooling-off period to “allow the initial media frenzy to settle and ensure clarity”. This led to Kelce’s representatives having to refute the allegations.

Not only did Kelce’s camp dismiss the rumours, but Full Scope has also taken legal steps, stating that the document bearing their branding was “entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued or authorised by this agency.”

“Identifying the perpetrator may prove challenging, but the company is taking the matter very seriously,” they said. “We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents.”

Despite the contract being a sham, Kelce’s sluggish start to the new season can’t be overlooked. In the first three weeks, Kelce has only managed 69 yards from eight receptions with no touchdowns, and he’s yet to re-establish his rapport with quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

There’s been chatter that Swift may be a distraction, but Kelce doesn’t see it that way. Speaking earlier this week, he said: “I think this year’s stats may say something different, but at the same time you’ll see the same person inside this building, and that’s all I really care about.

“I’m my own worst critic. Everything outside of this building is just noise.

I’m fortunate. I’ve had success in the past and I understand that the ball can’t always go to one person. It can’t always get in my hands, but at the same time, I have complete trust in [Patrick Mahomes] to make the right decision, and he’s been making great decisions.

“We might not be scoring as many points as we’d like, but we’re 3-0 and we must be doing something right.” The Chiefs are currently topping the AFC West, having won their first three games of the season despite Kelce’s struggles.
