Griffin flamed Sunny Hostin for talking at length, telling the table that they needed to make the chat “a convo,” before Joy Behar also clapped back at Griffin.

Whoopi Goldberg was forced to step in to once again break growing tension between The View cohosts Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sunny Hostin.

Panelists Griffin, 35, and Hostin, 56, got into yet another on-air clash during Wednesday morning’s live show (watch above), as the Hot Topics table broke down issues related to funding for public versus private schools.

The panel began the episode by breaking down Donald Trump’s choices for cabinet positions, including ex-WWE mogul Linda McMahon as Education secretary, with Hostin transitioning into speculation about private school funds she said are funneled from low-income public schools. Griffin interrupted Hostin as she spoke, with the legal expert asking her colleague to let her finish.

Hostin continued to speak, before a visibly frustrated Griffin interrupted her once again. “So, that’s just not my experience. If I may get in, just to make it a conversation,” Griffin said sternly, as Hostin continued with her own point, stressing that she wanted to finish because she had experience as a mother. Griffin countered, saying, “Well, I went to public school. I believe you got to go to private school.”

The pair spoke over each other for several seconds, before moderator Goldberg, 69, put an end to the back-and-forth. “Nobody can figure out what’s being said here,” Goldberg said, with Hostin advocating for herself to say one last thing before the commercial break.

“No, there is no last thing right now, we’re going to go to break,” Goldberg said. Griffin then pleaded, “We’ve got to make it a convo,” with Goldberg suggesting that she felt it wasn’t possible at the moment: “What’s happening is no one can hear anything anyone is saying.”

Griffin then uttered something unintelligible under Goldberg’s words, though she could be heard ending the phrase with the words “so we can talk,” which prompted Joy Behar, 82, to look over and quip, “Well, that goes for you, too.”

Added Griffin as the show went to a commercial: “We haven’t gotten a word in! She’s been talking for three minutes!”

When the show returned, Goldberg addressed the tension at the table.

Welcome back, we’re all here at the table and we’re having a conversation and we’re going to go back to it. Before we do, I just want to say this is the beauty of people who have different opinions. Sometimes it’s messy, sometimes we’re messy,” Goldberg said. “There’s something in the air. Just know that something is chewing on us.”

Behar observed that it was likely Trump’s election victory that contributed to the atmosphere on the set.

Griffin jumped back to the point she wanted to make earlier, telling her cohosts, “It’s my belief, as somebody who grew up in the public school system and believes in it and was grateful to be in a really good school district, if you’re in a school that’s falling behind and your parents want to give you the opportunity to get a leg up, your tax dollars should follow you.”

The cohosts again spoke over each other, with Goldberg raising her hand in an attempt to rejoin the discussion. The actress eventually raised her voice to get her colleagues’ attention. “Don’t make me shut this bad boy down again,” she said, with Behar backing Goldberg up as she told Griffin and Hostin to “let her talk.”
Griffin and Hostin have regularly butted heads at the Hot Topics table since the Nov. 5 election, with increasing frequency. No such debate has approached the intensity of their memorable June 2023 fight — again over Griffin’s feeling that Hostin wouldn’t let her speak.

“Are you going to give me a chance to answer? I mean, this is absurd. This is not what this show is about,” Griffin said, after Hostin accused her of not being able to defend Trump, who she previously worked for. “This is Barbara Walters’ legacy, let a woman speak
