You can count out a slew of rivalries from your must-watch list, but not the stupendous one, the one that flows in the veins of No.2 Ohio State (10-1) and Michigan Wolverines (6-5) for ages. When the Wolverines and the Buckeyes go against each other, the animosity hits harder. It’s intense, it’s personal. Both powerhouses have a common goal each year, which is to win a national championship. But both the seasoned giants know that first comes the first. One game at a time! The rich history completely justified ‘The Game’ title for an unprecedented rivalry. Michigan might be on its way to unlocking the 120th rendition of ‘The Game’ as a huge underdog on November 30, but they have a big reason to turn its season drought around in just one game.

On a recent episode of “The Triple Option” podcast, the greatest of all-time, former NFL stars—A.J. Hawk, the legendary name in Ohio State history, and Michigan’s Heisman winner Charles Woodson broke down the iconic rivalry. Coming off its most dominant win of the season in a 50-6 win over Northwestern, Sherrone Moore might have gotten over the blue of an underwhelming season, especially when they are facing a program they had a complete upper hand over three consecutive years.

Moore struggled a lot with his quarterback issues and garnered nothing but flakes from all across the world. But now, they have a golden chance to return the favor. Charles Woodson issued a stern warning, ‘‘We never went into the Ohio State game thinking that we were the inferior team.

Go slow, Naysayers! Woodsen accepted that their season went under the radar, but standing against the Buckeyes is something else. ”We just felt like, man we played to the level of our competition throughout the year, but coming to that into that game, you know, it was ingrained into us that look, we expect to beat every team on our schedule, especially within our conference but there’s one team that really matters, and it was always beating Ohio State. So, if throughout the year you know you allowed yourself to let your guard down, in a game, we weren’t letting our guard down against Ohio State”.

It was as if the Wolverines were in energy-saving mode, lurking patiently to hit at the right time on the right opponent.

”Being a 21-point underdog has got to be pretty humbling, you know, especially for guys who came from that team last year that won a championship, um, the guys who are still around, you know, to come off a championship and then come into this game and Be 2-point underdog are pretty humbling. So I know those guys would be fired up,” the Michigan legend put Ryan Day and his 20 million dollar job on serious notice.

Michigan’s motivation is legitimate, and they can very well capitalize on the rebounded momentum against Northwestern last week. However, Ryan Day is also not in a place to bear another Michigan loss under his belt.

Ever since Day took the chair of the Buckeyes’ head coach, he has done everything in his power to beat the Wolverines, the fierce opponent in history. Michigan didn’t get any edge before Ryan Day’s era. The Buckeyes only gave them a chance to pick up a victory in 2004, and that too under an interim coach. But everything has changed after Day took over. He has eaten up three losing streaks from the arch-nemesis, and it’s as miserable as it sounds.

Day put in a wild effort to bounce back. From firing a defensive coordinator to hiring some quarterbacks, adding a sitting Power Four conference coach as offensive coordinator to stand in front of Michigan with a renewed offense. But he couldn’t get his way to date.

Describing the previous losses, Day said he had never faced something worse than that in his entire life except for his dad, Raymond Day’s death. You surely feel the intensity of the claim. It’s that raw; it’s that personal.
