The Princess of York and Edoardo got married in 2020

Princess Beatrice joined her mother-in-law Nikki Williams-Ellis for a special evening at the launch of Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s new gallery, Banda, at Wild By Tart in Belgravia.

Beatrice looked radiant as she posed alongside her mother-in-law at the prestigious event

The royal and her property developer husband were seen beaming with pride as they celebrated the gallery opening with Nikki, who serves as a company director.

Edoardo was born to British mother Nikki Williams-Ellis and British-Italian father Count Alex Mapelli Mozzi, a former Olympic skier.

Following his parents’ separation during his early years, Edoardo lived with his mother and stepfather Christopher Shale, a former Conservative politician.

Tragically, Christopher Shale passed away at Glastonbury in 2011 due to undiagnosed heart disease.

The deep bond between Edoardo and his late stepfather is reflected in his decision to name his first son Christopher, whom he shares with former fiancée Dara Huang.

The connection between the two families spans decades, with ties predating Princess Beatrice and Edoardo’s romantic relationship.

Christopher Shale was among the guests at Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s 1986 wedding ceremony.

The Duchess of York’s close relationship with the family is evidenced by her role as godmother to Edoardo’s half-brother Alby.

Though Beatrice and Edoardo are believed to have known each other since their teenage years, they didn’t make their relationship public until late 2018.

The strength of the family bond was evident in the heartfelt statement released by Nikki Williams-Ellis and Count Mapelli Mozzi following the couple’s Italian engagement in 2019.

We are truly delighted about Edoardo and Beatrice’s engagement. Our family has known Beatrice for most of her life,” they declared.

They added: “Edo and Beatrice are made for each other, and their happiness and love for each other is there for all to see.

“They share an incredibly strong and united bond, their marriage will only strengthen what is already a wonderful relationship.”
