A Palace insider revealed that although the Queen coughs whenever she starts speaking, there is no cause for alarm as she is ‘on good form’

Princess Kate is hoping for a “big turnout” at next week’s Christmas concert despite Queen Camilla’s health battle, a royal commentator has exclusively told GB News.

The Queen missed the Royal Variety Performance earlier this month due to a lingering chest infection, leaving King Charles to attend alone.

A Palace insider has since revealed that although Camilla coughs whenever she starts speaking, there is no cause for alarm as she is “on good form”.

The source explained: “[The Queen] is a great believer that the show must go on and hopes to be back to full strength and regular public duties very soon.”

Queen Camilla, 77, also missed major Remembrance Day events usually attended by the Royal Family earlier this month.

In addition, the mother-of-two dropped out of attending the Gladiator II premiere alongside the King.

Gareth Russell, a royal author, spoke exclusively to GB News about the Princess of Wales “Together At Christmas” carol concert, taking place at Westminster Abbey on December 6, and how attendance could be impacted by various health concerns.

He said: “It has been a tough year for the royals. Christmas is seen as a season of hope by many people and renewal.

So it would be wonderful to see many people at the concert.

Obviously though, everyone knows that winter is a tricky season with health. With Christmas Joy often comes the sneezes.

“So it’s worth remembering that in the way the Queen has had a chest infection, people might have to miss it on health grounds.

“Short term, it’s the same with Christmas services up and down the country. But I think everyone who can be there will be there.”

Russell spoke about the love that Carole and Michael Middleton have for the Princess of Wales, as well as the extended Royal Family’s fondness for the future Queen.

He added: “We will see a big turnout from the senior royals, and, of course, from the princess’s family, the Middletons.

We’ve seen a lot of support from them in the past, certainly with everything that’s happened with the princess in the past year.

“We will see a really big turnout from friends and family, both the Royal Family and her own birth family, the Middletons.

The Middletons have spoken so warmly and so lovingly about the princess throughout her battle with cancer, and also the Royal Family have made it very clear that they are supportive of her.

“We’ve heard very warm words about the Princess of Wales from the King and the Queen.

We’ve also seen her sitting down and having chats about rugby and sports with the Princess Royal. We know she’s got a good friendship with the Duchess of Edinburgh.

“So I do think we’ll see most of the Royal Family there at the event. It is rapidly taking on the characteristics of a beloved Christmas tradition. That’s probably the hope for it in the long term from the Princess of Wales’s perspective that it becomes a Christmas tradition.”
