Jessica Pegula heads into the grass court not afraid of the Pole’s dominance
Iga Swiatek has evidently dominated the WTA tour for most of the year. After a disappointing Australian Open run, the Pole brought out her best form in the next tournaments. She ended the hard court season on a high and continued the same on clay as well.
Other than the semi-final loss at Stuttgart, the 22-year-old did not lose any other tournament and cemented her place in the WTA Finals this year as well. While Iga Swiatek’s recent form has shocked many people, her dominancestraight sets 6-2,6-2. With that, she announced herself back on tour and revealed
that she chose to opt out of clay to get a better recovery and be better prepared for the grass season, the Olympics, and the rest of the seasonwho eventually went on to win her first Grand Slam. With her favorite hard courts coming up after the Olympics, the American hopes to recover as soon as possible.
