Diddy is accusing federal prosecutors of manipulating evidence in his ongoing legal battle, alleging they edited the 2016 Cassie assault surveillance video to portray him as more dangerous than he actually is.

In court documents filed ahead of his bail hearing on Friday, Diddy’s legal team claims prosecutors altered the sequence of events in the video, which captures a heated incident between him and Cassie in a hotel hallway. According to Diddy, the edited footage is being used to push for his continued detention by creating a narrative of violence and obstruction.

Prosecutors have described the video as their “most powerful evidence” of Diddy’s alleged danger, but Diddy counters that the unedited footage—assumably the version widely seen by the public—tells a different story. He claims the clip depicts a domestic argument rather than the coercive “freak-off” or sex trafficking accusations leveled against him.

In his defense, Diddy acknowledges throwing the contents of a vase at Cassie during the argument but denies dragging her or hurling the vase itself. He says he was running down the hall to retrieve his phone and clothes, emphasizing that the incident reflects a “sad glimpse into a decade-long consensual relationship,” not criminal behavior.

Diddy’s legal team accuses prosecutors of using the manipulated footage to sway the judge into keeping him behind bars while awaiting trial. They argue that the government is concealing key facts to make him appear more dangerous than he is.

The bail hearing, set for Friday, will determine whether Diddy will remain in custody as he fights charges tied to allegations of coercion, violence, and obstruction. Both sides are expected to present their arguments in what could be a pivotal moment in the case.
