The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s third Netflix project will hit screens in December 2024

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have lined up their upcoming Netflix release with the second anniversary of the couple’s first project for the streaming giant.

The five-episode docuseries titled POLO has been executively produced by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The programme will be released on the streaming platform on December 10.

It features a behind-the-scenes look at the world of polo, a sport close to Prince Harry’s heart.
POLO will be the couple’s third project for Netflix since they signed a lucrative deal with the industry titan in 2020.

The Sussexes’ debut series Harry & Meghan was a huge hit on the streaming platform and broke several Netflix records.

However, it has been nearly two years since its release in December 2022 and the couple have only produced one other project for Netflix.

Harry released Heart of the Invictus in 2023 but it failed to reach the same level of success as their debut docuseries.

The Heart of Invictus documentary for Netflix failed to secure an Emmy award nomination.

It missed out in several categories, including Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series, where Sussex rivals David and Victoria Beckham secured a nomination.

The consideration period for the Emmys spanned from June 1 2023 to May 31 2024.

In February, Netflix confirmed that the Sussexes were working on four projects including a film.

Netflix’s chief content officer, Bela Bajara, indicated the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are working on a “bunch” of projects for the streaming platform including a film and two “unscripted” projects.

Bajara said regarding the couple: “They actually have a bunch in development,” as she spoke at an event in Hollywood where Netflix unveiled their forthcoming films and television shows.

She explained that Harry and Meghan are working on “a couple of unscripted things” and a film and series are in “very early development.”

Bajaria did not give any further details about what the projects may be about but it is understood that the “unscripted” project may be another documentary.
