The Princess of Wales was joined by George, Charlotte and Louis during her Christmas Carol Service in 2023

Princess Kate will host her fourth Together at Christmas Carol Service at Westminster Abbey on December 6.

The festive celebration will bring together 1,600 people who have dedicated themselves to supporting others in their communities.

Members of the Royal Family, including Kate’s three young children, are expected to join the gathering, which is supported by The Royal Foundation and spearheaded by the Princess of Wales.

The service aims to celebrate individuals from across the UK who have demonstrated love, kindness and empathy in their communities, reflecting on the importance of human connection during challenging times.

The service will combine traditional and modern elements, welcoming people of all faiths and none.

Westminster Abbey’s decorations will draw inspiration from nature, creating a festive backdrop for the evening.

Guests will be treated to musical performances by Restore the Music’s young artists before entering the service.

This year’s theme emphasises the importance of love as the greatest gift, inspired by the Christmas story’s message of empathy and understanding.

The gathering will include those who have supported others through their work, personal relationships, or volunteer efforts, alongside recognisable faces who have demonstrated the power of helping others thrive.

The world-renowned Westminster Abbey choir will perform some of the nation’s most beloved carols during the service.

Award-winning artists will join the celebrations, with performances by Paloma Faith, Gregory Porter and Olivia Dean.

The service will share inspiring stories from guests in the congregation who have provided vital support across their communities.

Before the main service begins, attendees will enjoy musical performances by young talent from Restore the Music outside the Abbey.

Beyond the Westminster Abbey service, fifteen community carol services will take place across the UK, hosted by Lord-Lieutenants with support from The Royal Foundation.

These additional services will be held at various locations, including Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro and Blackpool Tower Circus.

Like the main event, these community services will recognise local heroes who have gone above and beyond to help others.

The Westminster Abbey service has been developed as a co-production between The Royal Foundation and BBC Studios Events Productions.

Viewers can watch the special programme on ITV1 and ITVX on Christmas Eve.
