Just In: Why Kate Middleton and Prince William Think Their Country Home Is Haunters….. Read More Details
A royal ghost story just in time for Halloween.
There seems to be a lot of paranormal activity on the grounds of King Charles’s Sandringham Estate—which is easy to believe given the royal’s long, often tragic and dramatic, history. It was revealed that York Cottage, also on the property, is reportedly haunted by the late Prince Albert Victor, and now it seems Kate Middleton and Prince William have a lurking spirit as well.
According to paranormal historian Richard Felix, the Prince and Princess of Wales have a frequent visitor at Anmer Hall, which is a part of the estate. The supernatural expert explained on Hello! ‘s “A Right Royal Podcast” that the old mansion is said to be haunted by a priest from the Tudor time, who was executed for having differing beliefs.
When the Prince and Princess of Wales moved into Anmer Hall—it’s more or less on the Sandringham Estate—there was a ghost there of a Catholic priest that lived there and was hanged, drawn and quartered for high treason,” Felix said, adding that the ghost’s identity is believed to be Saint Henry Walpole, a Jesuit priest killed in 1595. Because Anmer Hall was owned by his family, he has “returned to his home.” The Express also alleged that the spirit “is reported to have been seen in the gardens and it is said when the Norfolk winds blow, you can hear him calling.”
Felix claimed that William and Kate have even heard phantom noises and had a supernatural spotting themselves in the halls. “Although he was executed in York, [Kate and William] actually heard his voice,” he continued. “And they have seen the ghost of what they say is a priest, wandering around Anmer Hall.”
According to Felix, however, the couple doesn’t appear to be bothered by the presumably friendly spirit. “Before the Waleses moved in, they were warned about the ghost, and the comment was—I presume it was from Prince William—he said, ‘No old hall would be complete without a ghost, would it?’” Felix said.
