Brad Pitt, 60, reportedly filed a lawsuit worth $67 million against his former wife after she sold her 50% stake in the vineyard to Yuri Shefler, the Russian businessman behind Stoli Group.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are trading red carpets for courtroom drama as their long-running feud over the luxurious Chateau Miraval vineyard is about to culminate in a high-stakes trial. The Hollywood heavyweights, whose tumultuous relationship has been making headlines since their split in 2016, are preparing for a legal showdown in 2025 at the Los Angeles Superior Court. The point of trouble between them is the Chateau Miraval, the sprawling French estate the couple purchased during their romance. Known for producing award-winning rose wines, the property had even served as the venue for their 2014 wedding.

Brad Pitt, 60, reportedly filed a lawsuit worth $67 million against his former wife after she sold her 50% stake in the vineyard to Yuri Shefler, the Russian businessman behind Stoli Group. According to Pitt, the couple had a binding verbal agreement ensuring he had the first right to buy Jolie’s share. But Angelina Jolie, 49, who has successfully transitioned from Oscar-winning actress to accomplished filmmaker, maintains she was within her rights to sell her stake independently, reported Daily Mail.

In a significant development, a judge reportedly rejected Jolie’s attempt to have Pitt’s claims dismissed, paving the way for a full trial. The court filings suggest that the judge found merit in Pitt’s argument about the verbal agreement, leaving the final decision to the trial.

The saga has taken several dramatic twists. According to Daily Mail, Jolie alleges that Pitt tried to pressure her into signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) as part of their business dealings, claiming it was a tactic to control her. Pitt, however, has countered by accusing Jolie of using the NDA narrative to justify the covert sale of her shares. Adding another layer to the dispute, Jolie might now face questions about her use of NDAs between 2014 and 2022.

This legal drama isn’t the only time Chateau Miraval has been in the spotlight. Earlier, in a Luxembourg court, Pitt regained control of the vineyard. A subsequent ruling in March dismissed Jolie’s assertion that Pitt’s claims were “frivolous and malicious.” However, Pitt hasn’t been immune to criticism either, with scrutiny over vineyard expenses, including allegations of extravagant spending on “vanity projects,” reported Daily Mail.
