News:lebron James Throws shade at Stephen Smith with unexpected Taylor swift line:Read more.

A growing conversation over the last month erupted when Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James confronted ESPN “First Take” co-host Stephen A. Smith at the end of the third quarter during a Lakers-Knicks matchup. The confrontation was sparked by Smith disrespecting LeBron’s son and fellow Laker teammate, Bronny James. The clip quickly went viral when it hit social media.
Now, a couple of weeks removed from that incident, with Smith addressing it multiple times, James finally broke his silence on the matter during an appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show” this week. LeBron threw some shade at Smith with an unexpected Taylor Swift line when McAfee brought up the topic
He’s like on a Taylor Swift tour run right now. It started off with, ‘I didn’t want to address it. I wasn’t going to address it, but since the video came out, I feel the need to address it.’ [Explicit] are you kidding me? If there was one player that couldn’t wait for the video to drop so you could address it.”
James added, “another thing, he completely missed the whole point. Never would I ever not allow people to talk about the sport, criticize players for what they do on the court. That is your job… That’s all part of the game. But when you take it and get personal with it, it’s my job to not only protect my damn household, but protect the players. And I think a lot of the media, including him, and I know he’s going to be happy as hell. He’s going to be smiling ear to ear when he hears me talking about him… like relax, bro, relax.”
James didn’t go into deep detail on the entire situation but did mention that the NBA is probably the most scrutinized sport. He added that a lot of people in the media are beginning to get too “comfortable” with how they approach players and the questions they sometimes ask, which, in his view, included Smith.
However, Smith made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t regret anything he said. According to him, his comments were never a shot at Bronny, but rather about LeBron and the position he has put his son in.
Yet, since that moment, Bronny has played his best basketball of the entire season. He is coming off a career-high 39 points in the G League and a career-high 17 points off the bench in the NBA.
