The Duchess of Sussex said the “Chantilly Lili” is a spin on her grandma’s banana pudding recipe

A day after unveiling the recipe for her dessert “Chantilly Lili,” inspired by her 3-year-old daughter Princess Lilibet, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, gave her Instagram followers a closer look at how to make the treat.

Meghan’s new video, posted on Thursday, April 3, begins with her carrying a carton of eggs before cracking one in a bowl and adding a touch of sugar. She then adds another powdery substance before pouring it into Organic Valley milk and mixing all of the ingredients.
After pouring it into a pot, she uses a whisk to give the mix a few more spins before adding another ingredient.

Once she adds in with another mix, she takes a moment to pick up her dog Mia while she cradles and dances with her in the kitchen.

She then shows the camera that she is adding condensed milk to her treat while her other dog, Pula, keeps at a close distance.
The video then cuts to a photo of empty cups surrounded by groups of strawberries and bananas. Another image shows the treat inside. A third photo shows the end product, with the fruit and mint leaves on top and colorful flower sprinkles from her lifestyle brand, As ever.
In the caption, Meghan explained that the treat is a “spin on my grandma’s banana pudding recipe, making homemade vanilla pudding, layering in fresh chantilly cream (doesn’t the word ‘chantilly’ make you think of that old Big Bopper song?!), with strawberries soaked in fresh lemon juice and a touch of sugar.”

The Duchess of Sussex recommended that those who try to bake the dessert spice it up with slices of banana and vanilla wafers.

She later confirmed that the treat was named after her daughter Lilibet and her husband, Prince Harry. The two are also parents to 5-year-old Prince Archie.

Elsewhere in the caption, Meghan gave a couple of tips for creating the recipe.

One of the tips was for those who are in a hurry to use a box of old school vanilla pudding mix, “or if you can’t make the homemade chantilly cream, add vanilla extract and a touch of sugar into frozen whipped topping.”
Another one of her recommendations was an alternative to make cookie crumbles. Meghan recommended placing the cookies into a ziploc bag and using a rolling pin to break them up.
