Mike Tyson Probably Doesn’t Even Remember His Viral Weird Moment With P Diddy as He Called Him an Awesome Guy Before He Went to Prison
Mike Tyson recalls his friendship with disgraced rapper Diddy, seemingly forgetting a very awkward interview they did in 1998.
Weeks after Diddy’s arrest due to several charges involving racketeering and s*x trafficking, which he pleaded not guilty to, video clips of the disgraced rapper with other celebrities started resurfacing on the Internet, providing more clues and speculations into his controversial life.
He is currently in federal custody awaiting trial at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and was denied bail thrice despite offers from his legal team. As the days roll by, more and more alleged victims are coming forward to tell their stories.
Ever since Diddy’s arrest, his connection with other celebrities has been scrutinized by the public, and several video clips from his past interviews have been unearthed. One of which was his guesting on The Keenan Ivory Wayans show in 1998. He was with professional boxer Mike Tyson, and fans branded the clip super creepy because of one gesture.
In the video, Diddy’s hand was placed near Tyson’s leg on the couch, and the latter was quick to notice it. While saying, “He truly is about the Benjamins we see,” he picked up the rapper’s hand and placed it away from him. Then, he moved to reposition himself a bit far from his companion.
Many believed this awkward body gesture seemed to reveal how Tyson felt uncomfortable during the segment. Interestingly, the famed athlete seemed to have forgotten this weird moment on television when he did a more recent interview with PBD Podcast.
In the episode, he was asked about his opinion of Diddy, and he called the rapper an “awesome guy.” He also said that he knew the hip-hop mogul before he became famous. “When I first became champ, I knew him. I remember him, he used to have crates when he’s at my after-parties and stuff,” he added.
Tyson did not react aggressively when he spoke about Diddy, so all these rumors about them having a beef might have just been a product of social media debates. In fact, he even shared a message of support for his fallen comrade as he prepares himself for the upcoming trial: “I wish him the best,” via
