Travis Kelce is sharing details about his love story with Taylor Swift.

The football player and squirrel whisperer revealed that he was able to successfully woo the pop star because he had several people, including members of her own family, assist the love connection. “There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was in her corner [who said]: Yo! ‘Did you know he was coming?’ I had somebody playing Cupid,” Kelce told Wall Street Journal Magazine. “She told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get her to reach out.”

Swift’s cousins played a hand during her Eras tour pit stop in Kansas City, Mo. at Arrowhead Stadium, home to Kelce’s football team Kansas City Chiefs.

“She’ll probably hate me for saying this, but when she came to Arrowhead, they gave her the big locker room as a dressing room, and her little cousins were taking pictures in front of my locker,” he added. During their first date in New York, Kelce admitted there weren’t much nerves since “we had already kind of been talking, so I knew we could have a nice dinner and, like, a conversation, and what goes from there will go from there.”
