One thing is evident to anyone who listens to the New Heights podcast: Family is very important to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

So it was no surprise Saturday when Kelce celebrated his 35th birthday at his Kelce Car Jam show in Kansas City, his family was there with him, along with Chiefs teammates.

Kelce’s brother and podcast co-host, Jason Kelce, was on hand, along with the brothers’ parents Ed and Donna. Chiefs teammates Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, the KC Current co-owner, were there, too.

Ditto for receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster and Justin Watson, along with rookie tight end Jared Wiley.

Fans also flocked to the block-party-style event in the Crossroads at 18th and Walnut Streets hoping to catch a glimpse of pop superstar Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, while supporting his 87 & Running Foundation.

Alas, Swift wasn’t spotted at the show, which featured more than two dozen classic cars. That included Kelce’s 1970 Chevy Chevelle that whisked him and Swift away after her first appearance at a Chiefs game last year. Here are photos of that car.

Kelce made a point of stopping to speak with kids from the Ignition Lab from Operation Breakthrough. They had turned a 1969 Chevy Chevelle from gas powered vehicle into an electric one.

At Kelce Car Jam, he raved about their work as he shared the stage with some of those students. Kelce praised fans for continuing to show their support for his foundation, the car show and Operation Breakthrough.

“It’s one of the reasons why I love Kansas City,” he noted.

As he spoke, a large television showed the Royals in Game 1 of the American League Division Series.

“And you can watch the Royals beat the Yankees,” Kelce said.

“I’ve got to go find my wife,” he said.
